I have been involved in discussing the attractions and nuances of the skir areas we ride at that I have been to, and despite gnarly terrain at whistler and diablo - plattekill has a special something.

There is the Je ne sais quois factor - but I mean the - "no, uh uh - I'm going that way" factor.

NOT ONE SINGLE LINE at Whistler or Creek makes me go "Nope, Im going back up to the fireroad" - because even if its gnar - theres an easy way down - a walkable line.

At Plattekill - I ride everythign now, albeit wary - but I have, and have seen tons of, looked down a section and said NO WAY, UH UH - and *HAD* to walk UP to a fireroad because the lines are unwalkable and too steep even without carrying a bike.

I would like to thank Lazlo and his mountain for this wonderful experience, and I'll see you this weekend, rain or shine.

Reason #23 I love to ride at Plattekill:

I like being scared.

Yeah, the definition of a "go around" at Plattekill is the tree at the bottom of the chute that you need to "go around"
