i believe the freeride race course is going to be on different weekends then the regular dh race. they will probably do this, to try to draw more people up on other weekends that are normally slow times. something like biweekly races, i guess youd call it.

Well that would be pretty cool if they had it on weekends other than the races... this way people who would rather race can get a chance to do both or at least try it out... and another weekend at plattekill is alright with me Very Happy

A 4X or DS course is in the plans. We are trying to bring it back to under the triple chair and start it a bit higher up the mountain. If anyone has any ideas on how to shuttle racers/riders to the top of the course via the big fire road please share. Plattekill has used a number of vehicles in the past and all have died or been severly scarred from the abuse. Trust us when we say nothing is going to surrive without some abuse from hauling bikers up to the top of the 4X/DS course. Open to viable suggestions...

maybe you can put the slalom course on the same slope as big 10. this way you can run the tow lift up to the top of the course.

We thought about that but we would need to jury rig some kind of thing to attatch bikes to the tow cables and make it safe. Slight possibility it might happen for next season but not likely this one.

the course should be at the top of mountain under the old lift. then have a mowed path or use one of the fire roads to contunue down to the bottom after the race is over..then take the lift back up. or....put it where it always is, and just walk up. walking up sucks, if the course is good, it would be worth it. if the course was like it was in i think 2001 or 2002 w/ the big clearable 40 ft double right under the lift, it would be really fun.

Just make the course uphill....that way we can race to the top, then just ride back down to the start. Razz
