I like the all new begginner dh course. It gets people who are too afraid to be in the category there supposed to race in, to bump up. Even though the courses are fireroads the entire way down.

Good point and it encourages new riders to try racing without scaring the pads out of their pants. Its all about getting more riders into racing for the fun and rush of it. We're mixing it up a little and throwing some other stuff in besides fireroads, but you have to admit those fireroads with those jumps is pretty cool.

No its not, we now run sports on most of the expert course with "go around options" for the big drops and stuff.

Not sure yet. Steve and crew are out there as I write laying out the course. All big drops have "go arounds" anyway, so don't worry. Just come and have a good time.

Drops are a must in pro/expert. they are primarily what separate beginners and sport riders from experts and pros.

I dont think drops are anywhere near the primary seperating factor. Although there is definately some truth to it unfortunately when speaking about some east coast race courses. Expert/Pro courses generally are alot harder to ride technically, and more importantly harder to ride fast. Drops in courses are a nice feature when they flow correctly for the racers. Big drops to flat or horrible landings end up being dangerous, annoying, and unneeded factors in a course. Take a look at the World Cup courses and most national courses. Drops are the least of a racers worries. Pinning it through the nasty rock gardens, ripping it wide open on the rough or charging down fast off camber sections at 30mph are the seperators. Throw in some nice size jumps and you seperate the field even more.

grow a pair and move up. Wink if any big drops pose a problem there is ALWAYS ways around it. sometimes bigger drops arent even the fastest way at plattekill. move up, you wont regret it Exclamation

Very Happy That sounds sweet, should be fun. Glad to hear you guys are doing some building. I can't wait for the race and to check out the new DS course.

We're building and having fun. Steve P and Joe have been working on the DH all week. Hcor is right, its not the size of the drop, or even a drop that matters but its the flow and precision in the technical sections. Sneak peak: This course will be 90% visible from the entire length of the double chair. Very techy, some off camber criss cross, and maybe a small drop jump or two. The dirt jumps and DS will be very cool too. We're planning some sort of winner take all night DJ under the lights or something. Bring some rad CD's of your favorite DJ tunes and we'll blast 'em...at least until the neighbors complain.

What can I say...niiiiice course. Its really comin' along. Come on up Sunday(tomorrow 8/Cool and check it out. This one is a real techy course. Lots of technical turns and off camber trail crossings under the double lift.

DJ: 2 of the jumps were completed today, third in progress. Thanks TripleX. Beverage consumption is a good thing. We do that too on occasion.
