Hey guys...I just signed with Planet X for another year.
I have been begging for this for a while, but it looks like it may finally happen: Horizontal dropouts on the Zebdi frame.
I am getting a prototype in 4 weeks (or so), then I have to test it to make sure it's not going to explode under trials use...I'll post pics when it comes through.
What do you guys think? Did I just open a big can of worms here?
The horizontal dropout is going to be the same one used on the splittail, where you can mount a derailleur to it and everything. Lance Trappe was riding trials/street/dj on a similar bike, this one is just going to have the Zebdi geometry with the same dropout as his bike.
By the way, Match 5 is going to be out in March on DVD, there is some good stuff from Mike Steidley in it and hopefully a big segment in the bonus from Jaromir Spesny (plus the '03 Bike Battle stuff).
is this the MK VI or later? i e-mailed Peter a while back and he said 1 more batch of Vs were coming in, then a new MK VI.

It's a prototype...not available yet. I don't even know if it ever will be. Kind of depends on the response and how well it actually holds up to my abuse.
The frame that I'm getting does have the new geometry, it's just that the back end is different.
what is the chainstay length range with the horiz. dropouts?

why are horizontal dropouts desired on a trials bike? you can't run single speed if you're going to ride comps... ??

Actually according to the 2005 NATS rules you can run singlespeed in comps now...they did away with bike classes and only have people classes...it's about time...I ran a singlespeed for a few years and just didn't go to NATS comps because they wouldn't let you ride a singlespeed back then...got any pics?
