course would have been fun...if it was dry!
i blame the weather. however, it was probably one of the few hardest plattekill courses i've seen...and with the weather...that made for a mean combo.

It would have been fun if it hadn't been so god damn wet. The mud sucked and made a tough course ridiculous

I thought the course was really fun! Long, and full of fun stuff! The difficulty level in my opinion wasnt really up to snuff with normal expert courses at plattekill...then again I've only raced expert 2 other times there. I walked my bike at a very slow pace through way too many sections... other sections like the chute I nailed perfectly.... I cant wait to do that course in the dry, it will be incredibly fun, and fast!
by the way, how did everyone do?

I thought the course was a great one....however the weather made a fast challenging course into a slow and slippery slopfest. The top section remained fun and was still quick if you stayed on top of it, the lower section though was slow and slippery and most riders were all over the place and on and off the bike all the way down. Weather sucked...but that course is going to be amazing when its dry.
I dont know how the hell Lars pulled a 4:18 on that.....that boy was riding like it was dry.

On a dry day that course would have kicked ass. It was just muddy as hell.

Agreed. I, of course, didn't get to ride it, but dry it'll be sick. It was a hard looking, long course with or without the weather. It being so long and the bottom section being so slippery, muddy and tech I'm sure put the tired ass racers through the ringer.
Lars was f**king rippin. Paul and I saw him blow by a rider so quick he was hardly on the ground and I heard he passed someone else before finishing. I'll have to check my film later today to see if I got a shot of him.

I didn't race. I figured it would be worth freeriding for the weekend and riding on actual downhill courses. next time we ride that course i'll just bring an XC bike or stick a judy on my cortina. I freerode with Adrian most of sunday and it rocked. we hit up some good trails and hiked to the other side of the mountain for ledges/fun run. DHJunkie and the rest of my crew did pretty well. Chris Hinman and him both placed top 3 in Jr. X, Scott got like 2nd in Sport Junior and our buddy Jim got a great time in Beg Junior.

i didnt liek the course still raced got a shitty time but placed 4th in junior beg on my second race and with this course i think i did damn well so im happy. i just feel bad for jim who had a sweet time but got disqualified for some course violation
Like the long course, but the section after the uphill flat rock thing needed a rideable line...If there was a line, where was it because I could not find it...Open up a few sections, and the course should rip...Flow rules...Need to get some in certain sections of that course.

that section was perfectly doable if you hit the rocks all the way up on the left ....it was off camber and slick as hell, but if you let of the brakes it was simple to get over.

whats cool about the 9 foot flat bottom on the race trail ? all the people with broken bikes... or broken bones.......its a shame that pro racers are making that .. oh thats right they got a new frame back in the truck.....so it doesnt matter if they break it off any stupid flat bottom...oh .........so next time u build the trail.......... (lay off on the 4:20 if u know what i mean)...... ............... oh yea and downhill racing.........shouldnt have up hill sections in them.......note the word(downhill)................................

you are so fuckin stupid....
1st of all... where the hell was this "9 foot flat bottom" there was a 5 or 6 foot (max) to flat, that had an alternate (faster) line around it... no one was forcing anyone to take that drop.
2nd of all... Not all pros have " a new frame in the back of their truck" in fact many pros are getting the same deals that amatuers get, with occaisional perks. Since when does every pro have a spare brand new downhill frame in their truck.
3rd of all... Stup the f**k up about uphill sections... If you cant pedal your fat fuckin ass through a 1% uphill grade for about 5 feet, than maybe you should take up a new sport...
Quit your complaining.... and listen to Plattekill's saying... "SHUT UP AND RIDE"
