i like fully...

i'm not the smoothest guy around...maybe if i jumped with a hardtail, i'd be smoother...who knows...

but i run a really high spring rate...1080lb spring...its sprints like a hardtail...

I'm kinda half and half. For dh racing, huge gaps, and big drops I'll stick with a full sus., for other stuff I don't find shocks too necessary.

if you run a spring that tight then you might as well go for a hardtail, casue what you have now with a spring that hard, is a hard tail that flexs alot. If you can find then logic in that. I like hard tails casue they make you smoother, just cant f**k up as much Very Happy

I love hardtail for everything except DH riding and racing. Peer-i-od.

DS racing the FS is kinda nice, though...

Hardtails for jumping, no doubt. it's just too hard to keep speed thru rhythms on a duallie.

IncestM1Racer: how thuff huck can you run a 1080lb spring? why even bother? is this on your M1?

if it's a smooth ass track (like BMX tracks) then HT all the way BUT if you race DS or BSX on a somewhat ruff track, it wayyyy more advantageous to race a fully. Plus, for me anyway, when corners/berms are not as smooth (like my riding style) I find it easier to pump a fully in corners than a HT. Like Sea Otter DS last year, wish I had my fully there… my $0.02

no...its on my foes zigzag...

i actually like the way its set up...sprints good...carrys momentum in the rhythms well enough...but saves my ass when i should case something.

My opinion has always been, "learn on a HT and race on a FS if the course demands it" But definitely dirt-jump on a HT. You learn to case and land smoother and it builds you confidence quicker. And when you do get on a FS-DS bike, it feels like cheating.

Yea it totally depends on the course. If ur ridin at the trails then straight up HT, u dont need to worry about stayin low or or anythin so not much need for a fully mx bike. But on a couse like Mt Snows mx id definitly want 5"s or so. I noticed all the guys on HTs were gettin TOSSED around and looked so out of controll comparted to the guys on short travel bikes. That is, except for seth on the evil, that bike really ripped it out there, didnt sound like it was gonna die going down the course.
