Just wondering how people would rank these. I would say in terms of #1 being the drop it took you the longest to hit after many run-ups and go-arounds. Everything I can think of is:

- Road Gap
- Scotsman
- Redhead $lut
- Dreadnought
- Broken Tooth (could never find this)
- Perfect Ten (where is this?)
- the 7-8' rock drop (pretty flat landing) that you'd run into about 30 seconds if you go straight into the woods off the lift (is there a name for this?)
- some 10-12' drop on Hardcore - old side of mountain (wherever that trail is)

Any others?

Theres alot of good drops out there on the northface and the southface.
i hit some sweet stuff this weekend.
tooth is legendary. i'll take you to it one day.
Perfect 10 you'll need someone to point it out.
but its on the slope to the left on the skilift. you probably ride by it alot!
i like the 1st drop on the last racecourse and the one on the next racecourse is small but fast and hot!! Lot of great drops at Pkill. so Hard to rank em!

You missed a very important drop, it's called the "shale drop", it used to be about 6', we measured it yesterday and it's about 10'+ depending how big you go, it's like the Tooth but much bigger and you land in loose shale.

This drop scares me everytime I ride up to it.
It's f**in sweet, but my alltime favorite is "Cross-eyed Mary" then Red headed slut. The callbox drop is good too, damn sooooo many to choose from,,,,,,,,,

But my new drop called the "Flight Deck"

The shale drop -- isn't that part of the freeride trail, right before cross-eyed mary? It's on the right and you land in all that loose shale? We were trying to find that all weekend, but maybe you either hit the Scotsman or that, but not both?

What/where is the callbox drop and flight deck?

transitionfreeride, I will have to post next time I go again to see if we can take a few runs with you or someone else who knows the trails better. For example, I couldn't even find dreadnought all weekend. It was easy when it got built b/c the race course lead you to it. Also, I was all screwed up on the freeride trail -- did someone change the signs because I don't remember Ridge Run being part of it, especially since it's marked as a blue trail.

The shale drop is:
Left off the double lift, down the dirt road, cut in to the woods on your left, go down the trail about 50ft. go left across ski run back into woods down the trail about 100ft.
The callbox drop is:
You have to find the trail that takes you to the other side of the mountain Hudson & Scotty cut it, the drop is up above the "Tooth". It is a little more diffucult to find but worth it.

The flight deck is the last drop on the freeride trail,
It's not done yet, gotta build up a nice transition for a sweet landing, this will be a 8' to 18' drop depending how big you wanna go,

Were either of you part of the group of guys who we ran into at the road gap Sunday morning? I was on a black Banshee and almost landed on the guy who was fixing the lip and didn't know I was coming?? We camped out there Saturday night.

Man, this is a great post! (finally)

I'd have to say my ALL time favorite drop at Platty is Red Headed Slut. It's the perfect blend of size, transition, and flow through. Even though this drop if fairly new (in the last 3-4 years) it's definitely earned a reputation of being FUN. It's also helped that it's part of a sick trail (freeride trail) that just keeps coming with great twists, turns and air time.

Broken Tooth is the all out classic Platty drop, super tech, big consequences, and total gnar. Even though it's actually quite small. It's the one drop that always scares me upon approach. And it's the one drop I'm happy to go around if the guy in front of me decides to forget about.

Ive hit 'the Tooth' since 2001 probably about 100 times no exaggeration.
The last time I hit it I was super tired and didnt pick up enough.
I landed chest to the stem, broke myself up and havent hit it since! Laughing

The only two things I didn't hit going into this past weekend were the Tooth (saw it a couple years ago and passed, and haven't been able to find it since) and the Scotsman. Saw a couple of guys hit the Scotsman (with hardly any speed) for the first time on Sunday, so I hit it with a little more and slayed it. Not as big as I though it would feel, but will be a nice addition to the freeride trail from here on out.

I agree that redhead is one of the best, especially since you can't see where you're going until you launch it. Hitting dreadnought clean and riding out of it is another good one, but I couldn't find that either last weekend. How do you get to Perfect 10? Not sure if I ever did that one.

Ya the Scottsman, I loved this drop when I first built it, but haven't hit it in a while, one tip, the faster the better, get on the bridge and don't touch the brakes, do this a couple of times then 2 pedal strokes on the bridge and WHOHOO your flyin baby,
you land near the bottom, it's soooo much smoother but scarry

You pass by the "Perfect 10" on the new race course!
When you go under the lift at that very high speed section
where people on the lift see you and holler at you...u know the one.
well you end up making a hard left and u go down a steep chute that you probably have been on dozens of times....well instead of descending the chute there is a overgrown trail to your right. It leads to the open ski slope. Perfect 10 is right there!!

Damnnn! I've been riding Platty for a few years now, but half the names are new to me. Dreadnought and I think the Scotsman I know. Where's the read headed slut? Gotta know that one ! Which drop is the one with the 5 footer to tree pad? If I remember thats pretty hairy? The other that I used to dig was thru 2 trees off a rock ramp ledge too tranny to ski slope. Any name for that one?

I always wondered if anyone else hit that drop. I hit it once and almost lost it in the chunky rock garden after it. That drop really needs some transition help, 10' to flat into the rocks is harsh. Sooooooo many un-named large drops in them woods of platt. Anyone remember the Wall drop on the old side????? not the little rock wall called fall line, the real wall drop out by Chute. There's also a large drop on the top of the new side, root takeoff to a large 10' hip drop with good transition.

Flight deck sounds very interesting Laughing My arms are usually dead by the end of the freeride corse so a 18' drop should work out perfect.
