My arguments so far are not attacks... just need to clear that up. I'm happy to see that a select few people are mature enough to see that..
Amen.

STFU.
Hopefully those that matter aren't as dense as this guy. Wow.
If you were as dense as I am, you might have the intelligence to realize you're tilting at windmills.

Hahahahaha, funniest post in a while. Pure comedy reading through all of this. There are some valid comments, and the responses are "you're a pvssy, by a road bike".
The only real issue with plattekill is that other resorts have opened up and run things differently. For years people were content with little to no trail maintenance, slow lifts/long lift lines, a free-for-all with regards to trails/lines/routes, etc because it was all there was in the northeast for real downhill. When Diablo opened, for better or worse they had a different mindset as to what a "DH Mtn" was, so they have far fewer but better marked/cleared trails, a much more stringent building policy but better-built obstacles/bridges, etc. The plattekill lift never seemed slow until compared with the sub-5min gondola/bucket ride at MC.
Now platt, which has never changed its mindset or its operations, suddenly looks like the bad guy compared to other mtns. Ridership is down at Platt, and its obvious. I can remember race days back in '02 when they had people directing parking, and if you showed up after 9am or so you were parking along the road because all three lots were already full. So all of this talk of "if you don't like it, don't come back" probably doesn't sit too well with Lazlo, who still has to run the lift, pay the employees, pay for electricity, insurance, etc, regardless as to whether there's 5 or 500 people there. Remember how much pro payout used to be at the races? Now look at it...
Dunno, I personally like the ambiguous trail network, and exploring your way from top to bottom. The slow lift gets annoying, but is bearable on non-race weekends. Waiting 20min in a lift line on race weekends gets old quick, but its just one of those things that you have to put up with if you want to race... The main thing keeping me from going to Platty more is the drive. I can be at MC in an hour and a half, as opposed to 3 hours for Platt. That means MC can be a day trip while Platt is a weekend. Sucks, but there it is.
Oh well, will be racing this weekend, followed by opening weekend at Diablo on the 13th, so here's to both mtns.

Does anyone know which lift will be running this weekend for the race? I'm planning on heading up on Sunday but I won't even bother wasting my time if the triple chair lift is the only one running. Besides poorly maintained trails, that side of the mountain is a little weak.

Are you authorized to ride yet you gimp? Or are you just going to get all hocked up on your goofball meds and hope for the best?
