Call me fucked up and crazy but I didn't drive 2 1/2
hours and burn a tank of gas and pay 27$ for a slow lift ticket and ride my 5000$ bike down a complete mess of a hill to move trees that I can't smoke.

Haha-- pretty funny but the trails weren't that bad
I got a ride so i didnt have to pay for gas
One thing I noticed about opening weekend at a place like platty is that alot of racers dont go to it and only go to races

I thought about it for a while and looking at the trails and (for the most part) the type of people there realized that its a complete

HUCKFEST is a term that should never be used in serious conversation... As far as I'm conceren, that term died when Josh Bender became un-cool.... which was about 5 minutes after he got a sponsorship.

It's a shame that a "highly respected" Mountain Bike access establishment can just wipe the cobwebs off the leftover burgers from winter season, roll some joints for the lifties, and voila! WERE READY TO OPEN!

Really creates a good image to those new to the sport...

And so the 2006 bitch and moan fest is off to a wonderful start. Rolling Eyes Long gone are the days I suppose where people just loved to ride period. Now it is ride a little and bitch a lot. I guess people are hurting from gas prices and pampered by highly staffed monster mountains. We are still tabulating the points for this weekends bitchfest and holding back on posting them just in case anyone wants to throw down some more bitching. It is going to be a close season for the 2006 Bitch and Moan Series.

i thought riders were ruff, rugged, and raw, not wimpy and whiney. everyone i know goes to plattekille for the wild ride and uncertainty a big mountain is supposed to provide. and whats all that suspension for if you cant get over a few fallen trees.

Whatever on the downed trees...it keeps you on your toes and sharpens up the reaction time. I had a great time riding on Sunday, still blowing the Plattekill dust out my nose.

I love the rawness of Pkill, as most everyone knows. But I do believe if Laz can maintain the ski trails, he should be able to put a little (more) effort into the trails. Though now that I think of it, the ski trails are pretty raw too. Wink

Platty was great! the fallen trees , the lift lines , the bugs i wouldnt change a thing

fallen trees - provide new ways to get down the mountain heres a idea jump them.

lift lines - this one baffles me i hate the look the people on the normal line gives to the others carrying their bike. dont be lazy you dont want to wait carry the bike up with you.

everyone i rode with with yesterday was having a blast .Im still sore , but had the most fun i have had in awhile .

the only down side i would say was the drive.

here are my 2cents!! The drive definately blows, with the gas prices as they are! But man it felt good to be back up at mother earth!!! The lift could roll a bit faster, but hey thats platty, keepin it on the 1970's tip. The trails did need work forsure, but hey thats how it is there every yr on opening weekends! Give it a few weeks and everything will start flowin together real nice. Now as far as the 4x track, all i can say is i cant wait to see 4 dudes race on that course and kill themselves, hope the heli will be there during race weekends for that mayhem, lol!! Good seeing how many people showed up to ride, DH is alive and well!! Twisted Evil
