yeah this debate thing is getting old... both places rock the socks for "freeriding" because they are both so different in so many ways...

Just to clear some things up though... Alpine is not the only way down the mountain from the halfway point... next time you should check out Deliverance, Evil Bob, Slayer, Ripper, Test of Metal, or Water Boy...

Also to clear up the US Open course fiasco... it appears that some people are oblivious to the fact that 75% of the US open course is open... The bottom section is closed for a couple of reasons... mainly because of construction that is being done to the halfpipe. Mountain Creek is adding dirt to their halfpipe, so large amounts of dirt and rock have fallen into what was the bottom of the USO trail, making it currently unrideable... Also there is construction going on in the base area near the finish line which would make it really hard to get through and/or back to the gondola...

either way, I cant wait to race plattekill again, as long as there are no stupid flat and uphill sections

I didn't mind the up hill part, it just sucks going up hill in mud.

$20,000 later, the triple is fixed and will be running this weekend. Now no one can bitch about pushing their bike for 3.5 minutes (yes I timed it). Wahhhawahhhwahhhh.

I swear XC guys don't cry this much. As far as trail maintance goes, f**k it. It's MOUNTAIN biking. Get a road bike if you want groomed trails.

Enjoy.

Its Lazlos favorite place! Laughing It must be harsh when most of your clientele now prefers to ride at your competitors mountain! Pkill is dead on non-race weekends.

you obviously dont know the mtn that well...theres alot more than 5 options and there are quite a few trails that dont lead to alpine.

maybe, but when you go to platty, u can ride a different one every run and still probably not hit the same trail. and they all dont end at one trail.

Yea...Thats because the lift is sooooo sloooow that you really dont get that many runs in. Razz You can log many more vertical feet at Diablo than you can at pkill = more time actually on your bike.

I do not think that is true!
Most of the people that "prefer" MC live with in 1 hours drive from the mountain.
If those same people lived that close to Plattekill I am sure they would "prefer" to ride there! The 4 hour drive discourges some people and I understand that BUT...
How many of you would drive 4 hours to MC every weekend if you lived an hour from Pkill??? NOT ONE OF YOU!

P.S. Plattekill is great on Non Race Weekends. That is realy the only time I go any more. It has been slow those weekends but I don't think you should be happy about that. Remember MC closed once and it can happen again. I hope not. What would you guys do if Plattekill closed? Where would you race 8 times a season? Remember you never know what you have untill you lose it.

both places r great to ride, riders from this area (myself included) are spoiled when it comes to places to ride. if we want a smaller mountain with more man made stunts head over to diablo, if we want a pure nasty mountain or wanna do a race series we go to plattekill, each mountain has its pros and cons, i'd hate to lose either

I think Chevy's are better than Fords! Mopar shits out both! Yeeeehawwww!

My dad can beat up your dad.

2 wheels + ski lift = LOVE
(this should be the universal equasion for DH)

Can we all agree on that? Pretty please?
