Looks like an old pic. Maybe Fabio, maybe not... it was said he slid face-first into the concrete barrier at around 60 mph and was killed instantly. Wearing a helmet would not have saved him... probably not even a full-face helmet (his neck would snapped off instead...).

Road racing is THE most dangerous form of cycling. Those guys are nuts. Shocked

I think that all depends on what level you ride at. If you ride at the top level in any form of cycling its dangerous. I dont think you can compare really. Falling at 60mph on the pavement is dangerous, and so is falling off a cliff or down a sick Dh section into the trees at 30mph. Its all dangerous, I never thought twice about flying down the road at full speed on my bicycle or at 150+ mph on my motorcycle. But every time I get ready to drop the 13 footer at Skyline I get that "uh oh this is big" feeling. Its all relative.

True, but amature road racings tends to be more dangerous than amature mtn bike racing. Stunt riding is a different animal.

i'll bet you can check the death stats and see what i mean. ( i dunno where they are; but i am sure they are out there somewhere....)
fear and danger do not necessarily go hand in hand..............

I think that's the most revolting thing I've ever read. And it was from the owner of the site.

This will be my last post on this forum. Guess I'm not Hcor.net material.

if thats revolting, then thats the most pathetic thing I have ever read...and ya if this is the same whiney bitch I think it is, then your definately not Hcor.net material. Not even close, go back to the forums where people talk about bikes instead of actually riding them. Rolling Eyes

I think the post is sick , disgusting and twisted. and I think yer an ass for posting it but that's why I'm here. I came for the freedom to speak your mind and the freedom of others to tell you to shove it, something the PC crowd will never understand. They want to be mollycoddled in their insular "I can't stand on my own two feet" pathetic little lives. Heavens to betsy that they ever get exposed to anything that contravenes their happy happy joy joy view of the way the world ought to be as it will give them a f**king seizure
