Just commenting on how what happened to you, is pretty much the problems I outlined in an earlier post in this thread. Just gave evidence to my claims.
As I am proven right AGAIN!
MW i wanna BE like you!

I still don't get the logic behind using a peg and a disc.
Just seems like asking for trouble.
yeah, I think for full-on street there is nothing better than a singlespeed setup and just a v-brake in the back plus some 4130 for good measure.
you're talking street - the bike is just gonna get beat to shit.

Once again I agree with Don, and I think that MW is right. I actually slipped off a low rail a couple times and ended up with my crank arm (driveside) pointed down on one side of the rail, and my tires on the other. My bike was kind of wedged up on the rail. If it was on my disc side (avid in the front) I would have been on the rotors.
I have scrapes on my hub flange from landing on my front dropout - once again if I had a disc it would be it instead.
I'm not a huge fan of pegs but I am making a 2" dropout extension (half peg) for comforts sake. Hopefully once I'm in practice it'll come off.

one thing that would be cool to see in a street/park oriented bike would be a rear 20mm or bigger thru axle. You could either get long ones and use them to grind on; or thread the inside and have screw in pegs or something like that.

Or you could just do a 14mm axle and hub so you could use ANY BMX peg out there.
You'll still need thick dropouts. I toyed with the idea of a peg on my 24-7 for a little while as I run a V, and 1/4" thick dropouts. But I think I'll just leave the pegs to my BMX.

Pegs would just be another thing for me to get caught on something while trying not to suck riding street. I'll stick to the standard set up until I can abubaca and fufanu and whatever else.

Actually you are the dumbest person alive. You just called someone an idiot when they were correct. Mini is talking about products like Profile's Tofu peg - small "half pegs" that are intended to do exactly what Mini is talking about. There are kids out there using half pegs as practice for doing pegless 50/50 moves - but they were invented for that and what mini said.
There is no need to jump on his case like that. He was right, you are right too but completly uninformed.
