This is pitiful. I'm not even sure anyone is going to see this, cuz this forum is dead. I'm a newbie, but from what I gather this forum was added a while ago becuase people wanted a trials section. But personally, and I hope at least some people agree with me, the kind of person who is on HCOR does not want to talk about saving weight on a mod or some UK rider who won some observed trials contest. Thats what trials websites are for, if thats what you want to talk about, the trials-online.com forums and the like are HUGE. But i still see a niche for a trials section on a place like this. Trials moves have become part of street riding. If anyone here is doing trials, its probably mixed in with their park and urban style and they don't identify themselves as "trials riders". They go into the Park/Urban section instead, which kills this forum. Why not make this forum a place to discuss the more technical aspects of urban and park riding. For example, Myopic is a huge topic in the Park section right now, and rightly so, as it was a Park contest. But Jeff Lenosky took first place and his urban and park riding are based largley on trials. Thats the kind of rider who could post here, instead of in the Park section when they want to talk about that kind of riding. I fall into that category, and there must be at least a few people like me. Maybe not enough who agree with me to jumpstart the forum, but hell, why not? The forum is here, it not any harder to post here than in the Park section, and it gets your post out to people who ride a more similar style to your own.

you make a good point. I don't think most riders here ride one style all the time. Riders who employ trials techniques like us are still going to be rare. I agree there must be "trials influenced" riders out there but it's unlikely they will find their way here. If you want to discuss trials in a more general way I'll try to add my two cents, although I come to trials from a trail riding perspective. Although trials and xc are a big part of my riding I don't consider myself a trials rider or XC rider, just a guy who likes to have fun on his bike. I usually gravitate towards trials boards but since I am such a generalist there is really no biking website catagory that fits me.

a lot of these sub-forums are dead. anyway, i think hcor readers ride trials, or some urban variant of it. it's just that there's not a lot to talk about, really. i got all my dumb questions out of the way years ago on the old mtb-trials@cyclery.com mailing list Wink
