The start is at the very top of the mountain. It follows an old trail (very little new cut sections, none for beginners) onto bumps, 5 1/2 foot drop w/go around, onto bumps again (fast section) to twisted sister, 3 foot drop, down fire road, then to trail 14, fast, fast, fast, fun, fun, fun!!!! Even if it rains it wont be a mudfest, trail 14 drains well and is hard packed! Its easy if you go slow , difficult if you go fast. we will mark it out next weekend 16th, 17th.

just because i am capable of doing drop offs, doesnt make me or anyone a expert rider. I have done drops up to 13 ft. But I am not a fast racer and do not have enough experience in the sport. My times just aren't good enough. I feel that you shouldn't move up to expert class until you are a true expert in the sport. To move up just to ride the harder trails is assinine. Also, occasionally there is a drop off or two in the sport course. I counted 6 drop off in the sport course for the June race.

-------no way man. the only way u will get faster is to get beat for a while. u will advance faster if u move up. u will not get faster unless ur challenged. if u can do the drops, go for it man.

I dont know what norba would say about allowing beginner /sport course to have large drops in it. i want the course to be for all racers, one course with easy go-arounds, my daughter can do the drops but she isnt quite ready for expert yet, but if she can do all the drops she needs to move up!!! Mabey well find all the sandbaggers this race. the course will be marked this weekend.

---------ru the guy that ur daughter had a trek w/ 24's? if so, she rides great! she will b very competive one day.

far as norba, laz is the norba offcial, so he can do what he wants.

also their should b drops in a beg/spo course, but they should b rollable.

I feel drops should be in the sport course. There are always go arounds, even for the experts. There is one thing, to do a drop like Broken Tooth at your leisure and there is another thing of doing it in the flow. Its hard to do this drop in the flow, after coming off the drop before it. I want to have drops in the sport course just for the fact of doing them in the flow and challenging myself more. The reason I am not moving up to expert, any time soon, is that I keep finishing in the back 1/4 of my age class. until I can move my times up to the top 50%, I feel I have no right classifying myself as an expert, and racing their course.

I do. Damn near everyone I ride with and hang out with at the races, are experts. This is my second year on any type of suspension bike. Just to be able to say I can make it down Plattekill's mtn, is a success story. I cant wait to be able to consider myself an expert. I hope to be there mid season next year and have July or August be my first ezpert race.

experts should be forced to do the drops. sports should have options.
